A specialist IT recruiter using artificial intelligence to help find the best candidates is planning to capitalise on a great start by doubling its own team.
Principal IT launched in January, and has helped dozens of candidates find new jobs, with no sign of slowing down.
Based at Hull’s Centre For Digital Innovation, it is harnessing the latest specialist recruitment software to fill roles in software development, infrastructure, architecture, operations and development, project management and IT management.

Managing director Glen Halliwell, who harbours international ambitions, said: “Since our launch, we have had the privilege of partnering with some of Hull’s best-known companies. I am confident that we are the only specialist recruiter in the region utilising the AI software we have, giving us an edge over our competition.
“We have had a real surge in demand recently and need to grow to keep up with our clients. By doubling the team in the next 12 months, I am confident we can do this whilst breaking into new areas. The long-term plan is to have multiple UK locations and international operations in central Europe and America. Watch this space!”

Principal IT has been working with C4DI members and partner businesses, as well as C4DI directly to help support a number of initiatives.
Dave Keel, chair of C4DI, said: “We are tremendously excited about the growing relationship between Principal IT and C4DI. Tech recruitment has become a significant challenge for every area of the UK, much of this due to the change in overall circumstances caused by the pandemic.
“Glen and his team have responded to these demanding times by leveraging their own unrivalled knowledge and experience in this market and combining it with some remarkable AI systems. We are frequently receiving positive and congratulatory comments from our members and partners about their approach to tech recruitment problems.
“We have worked together with the Principal IT team to develop some unique offerings for tech businesses and tech staff that enable an entirely novel way of looking at solutions to recruitment demands. Every business is digital – most of them just don’t realise it yet – and therefore it is important to engage with the best digital people in the industry. Principal IT is a rapidly growing business that we are proud to be associated with.”
