Pure is also one of the businesses taking advantage of KCom opening up its network in Hull and East Yorkshire as a wholesale provider.
Mr Joping, who takes the role as founding director Adrian Bolster becomes executive chairman, said: “I’m really excited to be taking Pure Broadband forward as managing director. We’ve gone through a period of growth and change in recent years. From being a ‘traditional’ wireless network provider we have become a true fibre internet service provider using the latest technology, all while offering great customer service.
“Our future plan is simple – to double our revenue growth in the next three years. It sounds ambitious but we’ve seen good growth and, with the help of our fantastic team, we are confident we can continue that. To get to that point we’ll firstly be looking to grow the reach of customers while working with our national partners and, secondly, by becoming a true alternative service provider in Hull by keeping it pure and simple – just as it says on the tin.”
Born and brought up in Hull, he has spent more than two decades working in the telecoms industry, including leading the consumer and business service centres at KCom, and had previously spent 10 years in the finance sector with NatWest and GE Capital.

The step up comes after Sally Kirkwood was announced as the new service operations manager at Pure Broadband. She arrived at the 12-year-old firm from KCom.
Mr Jopling added: “We have a fantastic team who work really hard to deliver an exceptional customer experience. A lot of them have been with the business from the start and are really passionate about what we are trying to achieve.
“It’s been a busy year for us, we have moved into new offices, started our rollout plans, we’re launching a new website this autumn, have invested in technology and our people, and recruited a number of local people – including Sally – to support our growth.
“It really is an exciting time for everyone at Pure Broadband and I cannot wait to take the business to the next level.”
